If you are reading this, it is in response to a vicious and untrue message appearing on alt.support.breast-implant about me ... by those trying to silence my voice in the breast implant issue.
One of the techniques of a Smear Campaign is to create so much distraction, so much negative energy around someone, that it is like a "hex" and a threat ~ either back down or become a target also.
This page in progress I am creating as an answer to scores of messages whirling around about me and our support group provided for no charge to anyone by The Humantics Foundation since Autumn, 1995.
As one implanted woman who has done everything possible to keep our Newsgroup on purpose and to be a peacemaker responded to the constant assaults and criticism, "Nope...she can't sh*t right for you folks!"
Nothing was too personal nor too untrue for them to post. Even my mother's obituary was criticized and some legal stuff of my father from 35 years ago was dug up & posted by this team.
They made up stories that I was "dancing with the enemy," (O'Leary's boss, Don McGhan) and posted about a Paul Rosenthal, the invisible, fictitious, man in my home I was not fessing up to. True desperation.
Women in the group were spammed that I was ripping them off, to the extent that the Superior Court Judge in my defamation case against them, click here, ruled that I had the probability of prevailing on my case because of being called a fraud and a thief by them.
Unfortunately, thanks to the powerful SLAPP statute, my victory was overturned by the Appeals Court who, in this decision, gives a greenlight to Corporate America & The World to put Anonymous Moles on the internet to defame their critics.
This man and this woman have spent 6 years trying to claim our Foundation either:
didn't exist,
if it did it was illegal,
if it was legal it was a fraud ...
and everything else they could make it to smear us and harm all close to us. Rarely has so few dollars generated so much attention.
And this man, wearing his anonymity under a KKK style cloak, while being paid as the President of McGhan in Ireland to sell and market implants, badgered me constantly, for some reason making our finances his concern.
He claims the vast salary and benefits and stock he received from Inamed, the largest silicone manufacturer in the world, had no bearing on his harassment of me. He claimed to not profit from whether or nor any woman got implants, yet describes his silicone work this way now,
"Prior to Parallax, he was stationed in Ireland and was responsible for managing multi-site international manufacturing, sales, and marketing organizations for Inamed Corporation, a global surgical and medical device company."
One year when we received contributions that were even less than $7,000 ... O'leary was screaming at me like he is now, that all I care about is money, and this one was claiming I was "lavishly living off of donations." How I accomplished on gross revenues of $6.5K followed by $11K followed by $21K ... this lavish lifestyle and run my small foundation, remains a mystery.
Few are as determined as I am, and scores of other real Support Leaders could not take the constant attacks. Powerful women left here over the years ... and now contribute via my e-mail lists. I refuse to let the Silicone Industry control this Newsgroup, too.
Here's how these people treated a very good friend of mine ... also un-implanted. Bonny joined our Board when Dr. Zaffuto and I re-organized Humantics Foundation to add Breast Implants: Recovery & Discovery in early 96 ... the last event that Humantics Foundation did, long before my involvement, was a fundraiser for a beautiful man who ultimately died of AIDS ... We invited Bonny to join us ... everyone was volunteer ... doing what we could.
This poster went after Bonny ... a beautiful Mother with a young child ... whose only crime to become under attack was joining our Board. She too had helped women friends with ruptured implants ... and was a great strength to me when I was writing my first version of Breast Implants: The Myths, The Facts, The Women. She helped get a fabulous article into a Salt Lake magazine for the Cause which attracted some excellent attention.
Bonny had a nurse friend with her second set of (ruptured) implants ... the first they had removed without even a mop up. This woman was married to a Medical Deity ... a lovely man ... just indoctrinated (pun intended) in the medical model that is sold in the vast PR campaigns funded by the manufacturers and the Plastic Surgeons. He refused to believe her implants were making her so sick. We faxed her the first draft ... she called crying. She finally believed what she had denied for so long. It took a few months to convince her husband, but finally she removed her implants after being ill for about 13 years.
I love my friend Bonny.
This ruthless so-called "Support Leader" in her deep hatred for me ... desperate to poison anyone who dared support me, posted Bonny's street address here on the Newsgroup ~ and many times posted that Bonny had stolen money sent to her as Secretary of our Foundation.
Absurd.
She also began harassing Bonny with threatening emails ... hysterically raving that the Attorney General of Utah was going to arrest her.
These were the early days of these same people doing anything and everything to turn anyone they could against me, destroy my good name and vilify anyone who supported my work in any way. They even turned against implanted women, if anyone dared to defend me.
